Gray’s values are reflected in everything we offer: local, sustainable, independent, and creative. That means local coffee roasts, compostable drink packaging, taps from small breweries, food made from scratch daily on the premises, partnering with other local businesses, and an eclectic roster of local artists and musicians.
We’ve seen the neighborhood transform over the decades. For over 100 years, our corner has been a pillar of Dinkytown since its inception: from the first streetcar terminal, a school supply company, one-time home to Bob Dylan during his “University student” phase, drugstore (Gray’s Drugstore, that is), fine dining establishment and nightclub.
Gray’s honors that history and continues a long-held tradition of serving the University of Minnesota community and beyond by providing a place to escape the sameness of fast food chains and corporate coffee shops. We are committed to doing our part in preserving historic Dinkytown.
